Reduced-fee column applies to natural persons, startups, small entities and educational institutions irrespective of gender/category. Expedited examination (Rule 24C) additionally open to female natural-person applicants, government bodies, PCT applications where India was ISA/IPEA, applications in a Central-Government-notified sector, and PPH-arrangement applicants.

1) Fee concession only if status is claimed and proven (Form 28 + Udyam/DPIIT certificate); if status lapses, fee difference becomes payable. 2) Form 18A e-filing only; physical filing rejected. 3) Traditional attar recipes risk exclusion under Section 3(p) (traditional knowledge) and 3(e) (mere admixture) of the Patents Act; only genuinely new processes/compositions/apparatus qualify. 4) Request for examination window cut to 31 months - missing it abandons the application. 5) Renewal discount requires electronic advance payment for at least 4 years. 6) Certificate of inventorship confers no ownership rights - it is recognition only. 7) Draft 2025 amendment rules (penalty adjudication) may alter procedure; check ipindia.gov.in for final notification. 8) Fee figures above are from secondary sources; confirm against First Schedule before quoting.

Supporting roles in Kannauj: Udyam/MSME registration (via DIC Kannauj or Udyam portal) is the evidence for 'small entity' status; DPIIT Startup recognition certificate is the evidence for 'startup' status; FFDC Kannauj / CSIR-CIMAP can be applicants as government-financed institutions.
