Udyam gives a Kannauj attar unit its free, permanent MSME identity (prerequisite for PMEGP/ODOP/CGTMSE/priority-sector lending, GeM, delayed-payment protection, 25% government procurement preference), while Nivesh Mitra is the mandatory online single window for UP NOCs, licences, the UP MSME Act 2020 72-hour acknowledgement and UP MSME Policy 2022 incentives across 31 departments and about 420 services (2.0) / 219+ services (3.0 list, Aug 2026).

Nivesh Mitra is sector-agnostic. No separate 'attar' entry exists; units register under 20234/20293.

1) Fake paid 'Udyam/MSME registration' websites: the official portal warns registration is free and no other site is official. 2) Since 1 Apr 2021 PAN and GSTIN are mandatory where applicable — small attar houses running without PAN/GST cannot complete Udyam (they may use the Udyam Assist Platform for informal micro enterprises, but that certificate carries fewer benefits). 3) Classification is auto-fetched from ITR/GST data, so understated turnover declarations are overwritten; Udyam is a registration, not a grant, and does not by itself release any subsidy — PMEGP, ODOP finance, CGTMSE etc. are separate applications. 4) Nivesh Mitra is mandatory: UP GOs (2018, 2020) direct that integrated services be availed only through the portal, and departments may raise only one query within 7 days — an unanswered query can lapse the application. 5) 2026 migration: some services are on Nivesh Mitra 3.0, others only on 2.0; applicants must check the 'live list' to pick the right portal. 6) Nivesh Mitra 3.0 notice: CPCB battery/plastic/e-waste EPR registrations must be filed directly on CPCB portals, not Nivesh Mitra — relevant to attar packaging units. 7) Nothing in either system is attar-spe
